Maybe you’ve noticed, but I haven’t been posting a lot. In 2015 I’m taking a step back from moodeous. It’s been a grand ride since 2005 filled with wonderful clients, formative experiences, and a lot of hard work. I’ll still try and find time for the occasional update, but with a focus inward. This year I’m setting intent, to pursue elements of my own identity that have been on hold. I plan to focus more seriously on Roller Derby and my overall fitness, but in a holistic way. I want to read, travel, and write more. I want to pick up the camera out of a sense of wonder and exploration, instead of obligation. And when 2016 comes, we’ll see where I’m at. In January I traveled to New Orleans for the first time. I explored a new place. Alone and with friends. I wrote. I read. I created photos for me.
XXX marks the spot. For wish-granting voodoo. Feet heavy, shuffling, with the weight of something intangible, hanging in the air, stifling the lungs, or maybe just my mind.

A carefully smoked cigarette teetering with ash, perched in offer briefly illustrating life and deaths divide. Torn bits of the living litter the tomb. I am literally on death’s door.
